10 inch I-Pad in the landscape (laying on long side) orientation.

I bought the rower outright, for almost $600, and will answer my own question.  Forward of the console, there is a flexible/spring-loaded type of mechanism that starts with a 2-inch opening that can be expanded to 10 inches with a half-inch of that opening inside a grove at each end.  I slide my tablet into the holder grooves horizontally, as someone else noted, but it holds my phone vertically.

This is a corrected/clarified response for the 2019 Proform 750R Rower.  The height of the tablet must be less than 7.5 inches tall and no thicker than 1/2 inch to fit.  The holder is about 11 inches diagonally and 9.5 inches wide, and Proform advises using up to a 10-in tablet.

That is correct.  If you use it without a compatible device you are just in a manual mode.

To use iFit on this rower, I need to pair it with a phone or tablet with the iFit app on it, correct? There is no built in screen for iFit?

Folded up dimensions are: height = 45 inches, depth = 43 inches, width = 22 inches

What are the dimensions of the rower when folded?

A great rowing machine! I opted out of the fitness program that comes with it and it is everything I had wanted. Made well, quiet,  easy assembly and storage- a great product and as advertised

Very pleased. Very nice rower and I have enjoyed using the iFIT app.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the seat. I move around a lot on this seat, it wobbles. And I can't tell if I'm suppose to be on the front edge or more toward the back of the seat. My tushie doesn't fit on it and I have tiny hiney. I'm always readjusting myself during an ifit workout. But MAYBE that's cause my posture fails during a work out. Hmm. 

I've had one occurance with the Bluetooth on my iPad connecting to this rower via the ifit app. It was addressed through app updates. That's happened once the past year. 

Otherwise I think this rower is excellent! And was everything I was looking for. 

Collapsing is easy. I moved this in a sedan without the need to taking it apart over 200 miles. It fit in my back seat with the seats down! 

It's a great product I personally think. 

I bought it at $599 a year ago and the price remains the same today. I've seen it go on sale! Try to catch it during sale prices!
