I only have one complaint about this olive oil. It’s hard to open and messy to pour. Otherwise it’s great olive oil. This brand has been around forever. My mother used it in the 1950s. Fresh smooth taste and the tin is small enough to fit in your cabinet but large in volume.

Where has this been all my life? I'm spoiled forever. It's a bit pricey, but nothing else is as good. I can never go back to the other stuff. Smooth buttery taste, good on everything. We take a small shot every morning and put it on everything.

Decide if $.60 cents per oz is a reasonable amount for organic olive oil. I am not so sure. I am always hesitant to buy foodstuffs on AMZN, and this one got me yet again. The tin appears like the much larger tin you find in supermarkets, I assure, it is very small. Also, the much larger size in non-organic form is generally 5 times the size of this. I am just not sure you are getting a good price even for organic. Once delivered it cannot be returned. I just think there are better options out there at a much better price point.

I am a long time fan of Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It has always had a sweet, light taste that enhances the flavor of so many dishes. I purchased two 1qt. cans (see photos) a few months ago in anticipation of the start of the grilling and green salad season. Upon opening the first can, after several uses my wife commented that the Pompeian had a bitter taste. Then, a couple months later we found that the second can (pictured) of Pompeian was quite bitter. Today, I found that was embittering a nice pasta salad she was making for a family gathering. I'm not sure I'll try Pompeian oil again on the next go. My son, who is the marketing director for a large natural beef processor and has worked with many leading chefs in America, remarked that olive oil that has turned rancid is a major problem for olive oil importers. I don't know if that holds with every brand, but I do know the difference between good and spoiled olive oil. This time the Pompeian was unfortunately not good.
