Customers are mixed about the water resistance of the water pump. Some mention that it pumps right to a drain and there's no more water on the floor. The check valve leaks back into the tank, and the water drains around 4 times per week. The condensate pump was overflowing with water, which means the tubing is always filled with water. When these go bad, it will cause a small flood.

"...I'm deducting a star because the check valve leaks back into the tank...." Read more

2. Not loud when discharging water and only stays on long enough to empty out water, almost 10 seconds
easy to install.
3. NO tools required, just put back the PVC drain pipe and put the discharge hose back on, the pump comes with the connector to slide the rubber tubing on with ridges on it to keep it on tight, but I did use Tie Wraps for extra protection to keep the hose from slipping off, probably not needed.
4. Empties pretty much most all of the water when float turns on the pump to discharge the water, stays on several seconds to get all water out.
5. I stuck finger down inside water container and it was full and when pump discharged the water, it was empty, and my discharge copper pipe is long and goes UP from foundation floor, UP inside the A/C closet, UP through the attic and comes down outside at bottom of foundation.
6. It shoots the water out of the 50' copper pipe with lots of pressure to empty the copper pipe completely.
7. LONGEVITY??????????? Just put it in today, we will see, the one I replaced was working for the last 25+ years, and is STILL working but the plastic was so old it cracked and was leaking from the water tank.

There is no real trick to installing this, it has 3 inputs for water or whatever you want to drain into it and one nub where the 20ft of included hose connects. It comes with a cover for 2 of the inputs. I wouldn't call it silent, but it's not loud, plus it runs for only a few seconds at a time. Price wise -- it was cheaper to get this unit with the hose then it was to buy one without the included hose - go figure!
