Yes, it has to be put together but I looked at the instructions and looks like all you need is an allen wrench which I believe comes with it. I haven&#39;t yet taken the journey of putting it together but doesn&#39;t look hard. I hope this helps.

The whole thing is in separate pieces and have to be put together, including the wheels. The wheels  were hard to get on. The little wrench that was in the box did not work and luckily we had one that did fit the nuts.
