Good Budget smart watch

Good Budget smart watch
This is an honest review for people who want to consider buying. For what it is and the price I payed for it I.E. short of $210. It was worth every penny I spent. Not the top of the line watch and it works decent with an iPhone. I get notifications and am able to do simple tasks with it well enough to not complain. It’s larger the. An Apple Watch witch me for being a bigger guy is perfect. The glass on the watch is good enough to resist most damage. I’ve had this watch for about 6 months now and I work security. This watch has no screen protector on it and it’s been slammed, scratched, slid across the floor, thrown across the room and dropped and has taken no damage to the screen. Operating system is a bit funky to get used to but I read that it’s mostly google OS that’s the issue. The band fits nice and is comfortable. A couple complaints. 1. I’m not a fan of the buttons protruding so far out. I’m ambidextrous so I can put it on my right wrist and it’s not as big of an issue but for anyone who only uses there left wrist be aware in any way of bending your wrist you’ll smack the center button and if held long enough will continually bring up the voice command menu. Not a huge issue. 2. Of you try and use moving back grounds it will lag the watch severely. I found the best performance is from the standard black back ground. Witch leads into my next point is watch battery. It’s got about a day worth of life if you have the normal background on and with a moving screen it is a little less. I hear people complain the watch won’t last 2 or 3 says but who doesn’t charge there phone at night? I just charge my watch when I get home and I’ve never had it die on me during the day. If your looking for an average watch that does what you need it to but don’t feel like spending tons of money for a fancy one this is the watch for you. I love it and it was definitely a budget watch that has already payed for itself and I’ve never thought “wish I had an Apple Watch”. It’s sleek and professional looking and just about no one ever even notices it as a smart watch until I move my wrist and the screen flicks on. Due to its “normal” watch look it works in every attire. I’m happy with my purchase and would record this to someone who was like me and looking for a lower budget smart watch that won’t break the bank but will do the essentials and look good too

I have to admit even though I wanted a smartwatch, I only seriously considered to get one if it looked good, lasted a day and was not expensive. I got this watch when it was about $199 and have been using it for over two weeks.

First the bad: You have to charge it every day. You obviously know what you're getting into when you are buying a smartwatch, but having one more thing to charge daily is not the best thing. It gets me through the day as long as I don't install apps or updates. And the power saver mode is pretty great -about 1% discharge per hour. Those things, I expected. But the mic, in my experience, is horribly useless because the voice response has way too much delay and 'Ok Google' almost always triggers my phone first.

Disabling that feature -which I read online- worked wonders for me. The battery life is better, there is far less lag and the watch is way more responsive. I have seen this improvement also when I received the H update.

The good, for me firstly, is the design. This watch is gorgeous. I am all for metal straps so maybe this may be a little bit biased but I love how it looks on my wrist. It's not too big or too thick; if the screen is not noticed it has no difference from a regular watch. The buttons are also great and very satisfying to press. The crown is also great but in certain third-party apps, you cannot use it to scroll, which obviously is not the watch's fault. There are a lot of apps on the Play Store, I was especially shocked when I could use the watch as my phone camera's viewfinder/remote shutter and when I used the keyboard to type. I thought it would be too difficult but it's way better than what I expected. Fossil included a lot of watch faces and a lot of them are pretty good. The watch GPS is usually pretty accurate and it can receive notifications from the phone even when Bluetooth is turned off, as long as the watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network. It charges in about 90 minutes which is good enough for me.

All in all, Fossil Explorist Gen 4 is a product that I am so happy with and an accessory that goes with everything. I think this watch and Skagen Falster 2 are the best-looking smartwatches in the market that looks less like a mini computer and more like an actual watch.

Very fashionable and functions well with my Huawei P20 Pro. The battery life could be longer as it needs to be charged every night. The watch is resistant to water but if you are walking in the rain or work in a wet area your damp sleeve will contact your watch face and open various apps.
