Came as a nice gift set in a metal tin, the pen works well and seems to be of good quality. The knife i only had for a week before it malfunctioned. The blade lock/release tab to close the blade will jam all the way up and i need a key or flathead screwdriver to press it down to fold knife. Now this only happens when you press the blade assist tab and flick the knife open, the lock/release tab gets jammed so tight it requires me to pry it free. otherwise the knife works great! I gave it 4 starts because the price was SO GOOD even with this fail it is a good value.

The Smith & Wesson name normally equals quality. This knife does not open with assist. Opens half way and then need to pull it the rest of the way. The pen could also have been better but is OK. S & W should have spent more on the knife quality then the fancy packaging. Very unlike them.I have other products by them made well and with good quality.

This combo caught my eye because of the brand name for one. Second I thought the pen would look great when taking notes in meetings and a nice talking point for clients, and it has been. To my surprise, probably because I did not read it on the description, but the pen has a stylus that works extremely well with my touch screen devices, adding to the "good looks" factor when co-workers see me use it, and again a great way to break the ice with new clients when they see me unscrew a pen, instead of just clicking something. These characteristics along with having an emergency window breaker point on the ben itself, just makes for a great pen that feels good in the hand, not to heavy, and not to light, plus it just looks cool. The knife, well its Smith and Wesson quality, which are great products. Handle has easy grip material on it so it feels secure when using. The handle is also long and curved at the end so it fit in my hand perfectly. Spring assisted mechanism has continued to work with no issues at all, no matter how many times I use it. Blade is of course nice and sharp, but also feels rugged and sturdy. I use the knife for an EDC and the pen in all types of meetings for notes and a touch screen stylus. Pro's - The pen is strong and sturdy, great for multi uses. The knife is sharp and locks into place. Con's - The knife needs to be broken in. A little stiff and yes, it is lightweight, the handle has plastic material which is why the 4 stars and not 5. Had it not been for the pen, I would've gone a different direction for an EDC knife.

First off this is a GREAT price for this set! Second it's great quality & third the pen is just bad ass! I love it. Can't let go of it. Use it on my phone & feel much safer knowing I have something that's gonna protect me if someone trys to jump me. I always carry more then one type of protection on me at all times but this little baby can go with you just about anywhere & no one will look twice at you. It looks cool feels good & actually writes really smooth. Like I said....bad ass! I just love it. The knife is great too. Good knife to keep around for everyday tasks & for safety as well. You just can't beat the price of both together. Trust me I've checked. I think everyone should have one of these. Well maybe not everyone but women would feel safer if they carried one. You also never know when the window breaker may come in handy. Could actually save your life one day. Should keep one in the car & on you at all times.
