The Elite 5 works very good in its 9 pages. However, it does not come with a mSD card, which makes it a little bit confusing to use. It does not come with instructions of how to use each page. But you can download the instructions from appropriate web. Installation was extremely easy, both the transducer as well as the Elite 5. Screen and graphics are of a very good definition. Having trouble in finding stores that would sell mSD charts preloaded with maps of my area (PR/Caribbean)

Overall it is a great product and thanks to Ebay I got mine at a screaming deal. I was looking to upgrade my 7 year old Lowrance 334c. I wanted a bigger screen and more modern features including improved GPS capabilities. After some lengthy research on several different units & brands I determined the Lowrance HDS7 Touch was most suitable for my needs. Pros.....very user friendly & ez to use, clear crisp screen, simple navigation thru menus, endless amound of features, powerful & fast GPS....this is to only lis a few Cons....I wish the touch screen had the pinch ability to zoom in or out similar to that of a smartphone. There are other units out there with similar feature but dollar for dollar this is by far the best value....
Since installed, I've taken my boat out only once, so I can't say much about "durable". From one to 100, my ability of use is probably a 10. Once I learn more I'm sure that number will rise. My biggest beef with the unit is so much is not mentioned in the manual. Probably the best thing about the unit is the wonderful support form Lowrance. They're quick in the replies.

I haven't got to use my unit very much yet, but it appears far better than any other unit that I have owned. I love the "touch" feature. It allows for much faster navigation from one screen to another and seems very logical. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their electronics. I also am looking forward to getting the LSS transducer to allow structure scan. The feature is already in the electronics, you just need the transducer.
At 250 what more can I say? With this technology and options on the unit and include GPS for tracking it's just amazing. I watched one at auction that went for over 280. Can't wait to give it a good workout.
